    “I entrust myself to earth,
    Earth entrusts herself to me.”
              —Thich Nhat Hanh from Being Peace

Do you stop to watch the eagle soar high over the mountain?
Soon the spring moon will shine brightly on bubbling waters,
and in the valley below, blossoms will carpet the meadows.

How is it the earth gives cause for rejoicing,
Even now in the midst of so much destruction and violence;
Even now when so much sorrow bears anxiously upon our hearts?

Do you hear the call?
Each life so precious;
Each voice so precious;
So much to be done;
So much to be done.
