Regret: A User’s Guide
by Heather Dubrow

Some memories scamper:
Walt Disney squirrels
with those adorable tails,
chomping on pastel pink acorns.
They wouldn’t know from damaging
infrastructures or futures, and
everything they touch rhymes.

These rodents of mine
dine on the wires,
chew through dear neurons:
master builders of black holes
all over my roof.
