Salmon Sunday
by Ruth Arnison
After Got a Salmon on #3 by Sarah Lucas.
We saw a salmon for real on Sunday morning—lying
last gasp dead in autumn’s low Leith.
Sunday afternoon we spied another, dead again, at the
Private Utopia exhibition.
The artist, standing outside an inconvenient convenience,
with a strapping salmon slung over her shoulder.
A photograph, self-portrait. Her eyes were as dull
as the salmon’s. Both looked way off.
